Wedding Celebrant.
heI began my professional career as an Officer in the Australian Army 17 years ago. During this time I was deployed to various countries around the world including the Solomon Islands, East Timor, and Afghanistan. These long periods away from family and friends has given me a deep appreciation to never take anything for granted – particularly loved ones.
So, why did I become a Celebrant? To be totally honest, it was because I thought that couples deserved better.
I went to a whole raft of weddings in my late 20’s and I was so disappointed in how the weddings lacked the character and a sense of personality of the couple getting married. I still think there should be a sense of occasion with a wedding but it should also be a whole lot of fun. So, after a long career in Defence, my Wife and I moved to the Sunshine Coast and my new story in the Wedding Industry began.
Whether it is a large affair or an Elopement, I love seeing a couple get excited about their special day. Putting together the wedding ceremony is such a fun experience and something I take great pride in making sure it is just perfect. You can be sure with my background and experience that I am organised, thorough and professional. But, what you’ll find, after all that, is that I just want you to have ‘a cracker’ of a wedding day! From the moment I meet my couples to the big day itself, it should be fun, stress-free and all about you. That’s my number one goal.
In my role as a Marriage Celebrant on the Sunshine Coast, I pride myself on being able to confidently engage, connect, and communicate with people from all walks of life; and I never leave home without my sense of humour.
Personally, I’m lucky enough to have a beautiful marriage of my own, to my amazing wife Kristen, and have been blessed with 3 gorgeous children – Samara, our 10yo soccer loving girl and Ethan & Evan, our 3yo identical twins. I can’t tell you just how excited I am to see two people find each other and make the decision to build a beautiful future together….and I am truly honoured to be a part of creating that wonderful journey.

Jarrad has a tangible connection with people, taking them on a journey, a roller coaster of love, always some laughs, lots of respect and usually some happy tears. His ceremonies are unique, hand crafted, and complied especially for the couples, so there are no generic readings, no boring parts, no bad jokes and it is certainly not about the celebrant. In fact you actually will hardly even see him in a photograph but he has a presence that draws people to him after the ceremony to exclaim how beautiful it was for their families and the couple.
He has managed to capture the essence of each couples individual story, that people want sincerely conveyed and he stands out because it is so obviously natural, delivered with a dash of style and fun. Jarrad is so popular in fact and his understanding of the celebrant business so genuine and real, that in 2 years he has become booked out. The wedding world needs more Jarrads!
